Illustrative case: B2B SaaS startup, Amsterdam — 2026
From pitch deck to paying customers before the investor round.
01 — The challenge
The founders had 40 customer interviews, a Figma prototype and a round planned in three months. Two agencies offered a five-month track; a freelancer wanted to start with a no-code tool that wouldn’t scale. They needed a product investors would take seriously and first customers would pay for.
The scope had to stay small without the architecture needing a rebuild later: multi-tenant from day one, subscriptions, roles, and an admin to onboard customers without a developer.
02 — Our approach
In a one-week Discovery Sprint we picked the three core flows customers would truly pay for and pushed the rest to a roadmap. Fixed price, delivery date in week seven.
We built on Next.js and NestJS with PostgreSQL, Clerk for accounts and Stripe for subscriptions: a stack a future team can take over directly. A demo every two weeks to the founders and three pilot customers; their feedback went straight into the next sprint.
In parallel we designed the brand and landing page so the product and the pitch spoke the same language.
03 — The solution
A multi-tenant platform with onboarding, the three core flows, team roles, Stripe subscriptions with a trial and an admin for the founders. Monitoring, error reporting and analytics were on from the first user.
Documentation and an onboarding week for the first in-house developer were part of the delivery; documentation, tests and CI make the codebase ready for technical due diligence.
