Web accessibility

Web accessibility: a site everyone can use, verifiably.

Since June 28, 2025, online stores and digital services must comply with the European Accessibility Act. We audit against WCAG 2.2 AA, fix what fails and deliver the accessibility statement. Audit and remediation from one studio.

What we do

Web accessibility: from WCAG audit to remediation

Millions of people in the Netherlands have an impairment that makes websites harder to use: low vision, limited motor control, dyslexia, color blindness. They shop, book and manage things online like everyone else, when they can. Since June 28, 2025 that is no longer optional: the European Accessibility Act requires online stores, banks, transport operators and other e-services with 10 or more employees to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and the Dutch regulator ACM enforces it.

Most accessibility firms deliver a report and disappear. We do not. We audit using the WCAG-EM method, with automated tests and manual checks using NVDA, VoiceOver and keyboard only. Then we fix it ourselves: code, contrast, forms, focus, captions. The same studio that finds the issues resolves them.

You receive a report per criterion, an accessibility statement that meets the requirements and a re-check after remediation. If we build your new website or store, accessibility is included by default, at no extra charge. A welcome side effect: accessible sites rank better in Google and convert better, because what works for a screen reader also works for a customer in a hurry on a phone.

How we work

→ Process

How an engagement runs.

  1. 01

    Intake & scope

Together we define the sample: which pages, flows and templates represent your site or app. Following WCAG-EM.

  2. 02

    Audit

Automated scan with axe-core and Lighthouse, then manual: keyboard, screen readers, contrast, zoom, forms, video.

  3. 03

    Report & priorities

Every finding with criterion, location, impact on users and the fix. Sorted by what actually blocks people.

  4. 04

    Remediation

We change the code ourselves, or guide your own developers. Content rules for your editors are included: alt text, headings, link text.

  5. 05

    Re-check & statement

After remediation we test again and write the accessibility statement. Then an annual review and monitoring in your pipeline.

Why RABZI

Why RABZI for this work.

01

Audit and remediation

Most firms only audit. We are developers: we find the issue and fix it, in your code, the same week.

02

Tested by hand

Automated tools catch only part of the problems. We test with screen readers, keyboard and, where possible, real users.

03

Ready for the regulator

Report, statement and remediation schedule in the form the regulator expects. No panic when an enforcement letter arrives.

04

A better site for everyone

Accessible code is clean code: faster, easier to find and easier to maintain. Google reads your site the way a screen reader does.

05

Standard in every new build

If we build it, WCAG 2.2 AA is not an extra line on the quote. It lives in our design system and in every component.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about web accessibility (WCAG).

01How much does a WCAG audit cost?

A mini audit of your key pages starts at RABZI from €950 excl. VAT and gives you a clear picture of where you stand within 1 week. A full WCAG-EM audit with accessibility statement costs from €2,950. Audit and remediation in 1 bundle starts from €9,500; larger stores and platforms land between €10,000 and €25,000. Fixed price, agreed up front.

02Who does the European Accessibility Act apply to?

Companies that provide digital services to consumers: online stores, banks and payment services, transport operators, telecom, e-books and e-readers, and digital access to audiovisual media. Micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees and less than €2 million in revenue are exempt. The act has applied since June 28, 2025 and in the Netherlands the ACM enforces it. Public bodies have been covered by separate rules for longer.

03What is the difference between WCAG 2.1 and 2.2?

WCAG 2.2 is the latest version and adds 9 criteria, including visible focus, target size, dragging movements and accessible authentication. The EAA refers to EN 301 549, which is based on WCAG 2.1 AA. We test against 2.2 AA by default: that way you meet both and you are ready for the next revision of the standard.

04What is an accessibility statement?

A public statement on your website that says how far you comply with WCAG, which parts are not yet accessible, what you are doing about it and how users can report problems. For public bodies the format is set by law; for companies under the EAA a comparable statement is the norm. We write it based on the audit.

05Can you make my existing website accessible?

Yes. After the audit we fix the code ourselves, whether or not we built the site. WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Next.js or custom. With an outdated theme or a pile of plugins we discuss honestly whether repair or rebuild is cheaper. Content such as alt text and headings we tackle together with your editors.

06Does accessibility help with SEO too?

Yes, demonstrably. Google evaluates your site much like a screen reader does: heading structure, alt text, link text, readable HTML and speed. Accessibility remediation improves those directly. Bounce rates and form errors also drop, because what works for someone with an impairment also works for someone in a hurry.
